Retinopathy

Retinopathy is a severe complication of diabetes caused by excess blood sugar, which is characterized by damage to the retina. Initially, retinopathy is not accompanied by any visual symptoms. However, vision will gradually deteriorate. Then, more obvious symptoms appear, such as loss of visual acuity, blurred vision or even vision with black spots or bright spots.
