LADA

Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA) is often mistaken for Type 2 diabetes.

Although its onset resembles Type 2 diabetes, LADA is actually a form of Type 1 diabetes. It is therefore best described as a “slow-progressing” or “late-onset” form of Type 1 diabetes.

LADA most often occurs in people between 30 and 50 years old.
